KIGALI, May 5 (Xinhua) -- A Rwandan police officer has been killed and another injured and admitted to hospital after they were shot by a colleague in Musanze district, northern Rwanda.
The incident took place on Thursday morning.
In a statement, Police spokesman ACP Celestin Twahirwa confirmed the incident, saying it took place at 7:30 a.m. local time in Busogo Sector.
"Assistant Inspector of Police (AIP) Richard Kabandize, a staff at Busogo Police Station shot and killed Chief Inspector of Police (CIP) Jean Bosco Mugabo, the Officer in Charge (OC) of the police station," Twahirwa said.
Twahirwa explained that the assailant rushed into one of the police station buildings, locked himself inside and continued shooting and in the process, he also injured another officer Sergeant
